Why are there no prices on the website?
Green coffee is quoted per lot, not per product. The price depends on the harvest a lot came from, its grade, the freight and insurance it took to arrive, and the exchange rate on the day. A published price would be wrong within weeks. Tell us the origin and quantity and you get a written offer, usually within one working day, valid for a stated period.
What is the minimum order?
For green coffee, one bag; for roasted, 5 kg. For a first order or a trial we go lower — a few kilograms of green or a couple of kilos of roasted is fine. Private buyers can order small retail quantities of roasted coffee.
Can I get a sample before ordering?
Yes, for commercial enquiries. We send 100 to 300 g per lot, enough to roast and cup properly. The sample cost is credited against a subsequent order.
Which coffee should I start with?
Mokha Sanani. It shows the origin's character without the extremes and is the most forgiving to roast. Move to Mattari for the heavy chocolate profile or Hirazi for the floral, high-scoring lots once you know what you want.
Do you deliver outside Switzerland?
Yes. We ship into the EU and further afield. Customs formalities and any import duties in the destination country are handled according to the agreed delivery terms, which we confirm in the offer.
How long does green coffee keep?
In a barrier liner at 15 to 20 °C and below 60 % relative humidity, a good lot stays lively for around twelve months. In plain jute in a warm store, expect noticeable fade after about six. We state moisture and water activity at the time of offer so you can judge.
Is the coffee organic or certified?
Most Yemeni smallholders farm without synthetic inputs because those inputs are unavailable and unaffordable, not because of a certificate. Formal organic certification is rare and expensive for a farmer with half a hectare. We tell you what a lot actually is rather than implying a certification it does not hold.
Can you roast to our profile?
Yes. For wholesale volumes we roast to an agreed curve and repeat it, whole bean or ground, neutral or own label.
Why is Yemeni coffee expensive?
Tiny plots on hand-built terraces, hand picking in several passes, no irrigation, hand sorting, and difficult, costly logistics. A Yemeni farmer produces a fraction of what a mechanised Brazilian farm produces per hectare. The price reflects the labour, not a marketing position.
Do you sell qishr?
Coffee husk is available with orders on request. Ask when you enquire.
How can I pay?
Bank transfer against invoice. First orders are normally pro forma; agreed terms follow once a relationship is established.
